This was Stormzy's second trip to Belfast, the first causing so much commotion it made the local news, with queue lines stretching for hundreds of yards. This time round it was slightly more civilised, with no huge queues to speak of, due to the fact that there were tickets available beforehand, unlike last time!
Although, due to the natural of the artist, it was a younger crowd, which makes my job a lot easier due to the fact that 18-21-year-olds never turn down the opportunity of a photo! The artist warming up for the big man was called A2; he wasn't too lively, but I guess he didn't want to steal Stormzy's job of causing havoc on stage.
By the time Stormzy made the stage, the crowd was packed and going nuts, so there were flailing arms all over the photo pit which is always a challenge, especially when you're sharing that space with three members of security and another photographer!
It is a one man show, but that's what makes it such a spectacle. He manages such an intense atmosphere on his own and he fills the stage with his movement and energy.
Here's a video from the night to give you an idea of the atmosphere. Apologies for the shaky hands, I was holding the camera above my head whilst people were going nuts around me!
